CHAPPELL IN FIFTH OVERALL AFTER ROUND ONE OF APSU INVITATIONAL

    CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Senior Rob Chappell shot rounds of 70 and 68 to help the Dayton Flyers into a tie for seventh after day one of the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate.

    The Flyers, who were coming off their first tournament championship in three years, shot a 295 in round one and a 292 in the second round. Chappell stands alone in fifth among individuals just six strokes behind the lead.

    Sophomore Zach Glassman shook off a slow start shooting a 76 in the first round and a one-under 71 in round two.

    Sophomore Jeff Hodapp played steadily with rounds of 74 and 76 to place among the Top 50 golfers after day one.

    Senior Mitch Custenborder added rounds of 75 and 78, while senior Mark Juve rounded out the scoring with scores of 80 and 77.

    The Flyers will play the third and final round on Tuesday, Oct. 21 from the Clarksville Country Club in Clarksville, Tenn.
