First Round Results in PDF Format WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Behind a first round score of 78 from sophomore Katie Gallagher, the Dayton Flyers concluded day one of the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament in eighth place.
Gallagher , who finished six over after day one, shot a 38 on the first nine holes and a 40 on the back to pace the Flyers.
Not far behind was fellow freshman Julie Pouliquen who tallied an 80. Pouliquen struggled in the beginning shooting a 44 on the front nine, but rallied and came back with an even par 36 on the back.
In a tie for 38th after round one was senior Mary Kane who added an 83. Kane also shot a 44 in her first nine holes, but settled down to shoot a 39 on the back.
Sophomore Katie Dempsey finished round one with an 85 after shooting a 43 and 42 in the two halves. Sophomore Casey Peterson rounded out the scoring with an 88.
As a team UD shot a 326 overall.
UD will play the second of three rounds on Saturday, April 19 the Golden Horseshoe in Williamsburg, Va. Fans will be able to follow the tournament with live scoring at Golfstat.com.
