WINTER GARDEN, Fla. - After shooting a team score of 292, the Dayton Flyers remain in place after two rounds of the 2008 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship.
Freshman Zach Glassman led the way adding another round of 71 in day two. Glassman, who is tied for eighth, once again struggled early netting bogeys on holes four and six, but bounced back with bridies on seven, eight, 11 and 14 to shoot one-under par. Glassman also extended his streak of rounds below an 80 to 14.
Another Flyer who enjoyed a solid round two was freshman Jeff Hodapp with a one-over par 73. Hodapp was three over in the first five holes but like Glassman settled down to finish better than his 74 in round one.
The day one star, junior Rob Chappell, remains in tied for second overall after tallying a second round 73. Chappell netted four bogeys and a double bogey to start before finally settling in.
Freshman Chris Woeste still ranks in the Top 20 overall after recording a round two score of 76. Woeste had a tough stretch of five bogeys in the middle of the round before breaking that streak with a birdie on 17.
Rounding out the scoring with a second round 79 was freshman Ian Gilley.
As a team the Flyers are in good shape at four-under par. However, UD is 20 strokes back of the first-place Charlotte 49ers heading into the final round.
The third and final round of the tournament takes place on Sunday, May 4. The event starts at at 8 a.m. ET from the Orange County National Golf Course in Winter Garden, Fla.
