DAYTON WOMEN'S GOLF PLACES IN THIRD AT THE UD FALL INVITATIONAL

KETTERING, Ohio – A career-best 75 in round two from junior Heather Jorgensen, the University of Dayton Women’s Golf Team placed in third at the 2010 UD Fall Invitational.

Jorgensen, who fired an 84 in the first round, obliterated her previous career low round of 81 set this year. She finished the individual competition in a tie for 18th.

As a team the Flyers placed in third place tallying a 315 total in round two.

Senior Julie Pouliquen placed in third among individuals after carding an 80 in round two. Entering the second round with the lead, Pouliquen completed the tournament as the best scorer on par 4 holes at plus two overall.

Junior Clara Ang shot back-to-back rounds of 78 and completed the tournament tied for 15th among individuals.

Senior Megan Keating added an 82 in round two and finished in a tied for 18th as well. Sophomore Kelly Coakley rebounded from an 88 in round one to tally an 84 in the second.

Among the individual golfers for UD, freshman Erin Peavy enjoyed a solid round two shooting an 81. Peavy placed in a tie for 31st among individuals.

In round two, sophomore Cheryl Ang shot a 91 and junior Moira Mulligan had a 96.

The Butler Bulldogs won the 2010 UD Fall Invitational after shooting rounds of 305 and 295 for a team total of 600. Butler’s Michele Nash also took home the individual honors after carding rounds of 73 and 72 for a total of 145. Nash won the tournament by four strokes.

Up next for the Flyers is the Richmond Invitational held from Nov. 1 and 2. This will be the final fall tournament of the season for Dayton.
