DAYTON WOMEN'S GOLF PLACES IN 8TH AT THE UD FALL INVITE

KETTERING, Ohio – A career-best 77 from sophomore Grace Nikolai helped her earn a Top 10 finish at the 2011 University of Dayton Fall Invitational.

Nikolai, who previously shot a 79 in round one, placed in a tie for 10th.

Her efforts helped the Flyers finish in eighth. UD as a team shot a 320.

Senior Clara Ang improved in the second round carding a 78. She placed in a tie for 25th among individuals.

Freshman Lucy Frey shot back-to-back rounds of 80 and tied for 25th with Ang.

Senior Heather Jorgensen was Dayton’s next finisher after shooting a second round 86. Sophomore Maggie Prokop added an 85 to complete the team scoring.

Among individuals, freshman Kelly Muskat shot a season-best 80. She was followed by sophomore Erin Peavy and junior Kelly Coakley who each carded an 88 in round two.

Freshman Mary Katherine Slattery improved in round two as well shooting an 87.

Detroit’s Lindsey Lammers earned medalist honors after winning a one-hole playoff against Cincinnati’s Olivia Dose. Cincinnati won the team championship with a 605 total.

The UD Fall Invitational concludes the fall season for the Flyers.
