FORT MYERS, Fla. – A career-best 66 in round two by junior
Brenten Blakeman highlighted the Dayton Flyers at the 2011 Cobra-Puma Invitational.
Blakeman, who shot a 74 in round one, is in fifth among individuals and four strokes off the lead. His second round score is also the lowest by a Flyer since Rob Chappell’s 66 at the 2008 Leo Kennan Invitational.
Dayton is in sixth after the first two rounds of play shooting a 300 in round one and a 287 in the second.
Senior
Michael Oberschmidt was next carding a 73 in round one and a 75 in the second. Oberschmidt is tied for 27th among individuals.
Junior
Matt Buse continued his solid play posting scores of 76 and 74 on day one.
Sophomore
Andrew Steffensmeier rebounded from a first round 79 to shoot an even-par 72 in the second. Junior
Sean Keating rounded out the scoring with a 77 and 76.
The third and final round will occur on Monday, Oct. 3.
