FORT MYERS, Fla. – Junior
Brenten Blakeman earned the best finish in his Dayton Flyer career after tying for sixth at the 2011 Cobra-PUMA Invitational.
Blakeman, who carded an even-par 72 in the third round, was four-under for the tournament. The La Grange, Ill. native’s previous best finish was tying for eighth at the 2010 John Piper Intercollegiate.
Senior
Michael Oberschmidt matched his season low with a 71 in the third and final round. Oberschmidt finished in a tie for 23rd among individuals and was three-over for the tournament.
Junior
Sean Keating matched his round two score with another 76 in round three. Keating tied for 46th among individuals.
Junior
Matt Buse also tied for 46th after shooting a 79 in round three. Sophomore
Andrew Steffensmeier completed the scoring with a third round 81.
The Flyers finished in ninth as a team after shooting a 298 in round three. UD previously shot a 300 and 287 in the first two rounds of play.
Next up for Dayton is the Bearcat Invitational held Oct. 10-11. The tournament will take place at the Traditions Golf Club in Hebron, Ky.
