DAYTON MEN'S GOLF SIGNS THREE TO THE CLASS OF 2014

DAYTON, Ohio – Head Men’s Golf Coach Gip Hoagland announced that George Rohde, Thomas Goss and Craig Purpus have signed letters of intent to play for the University of Dayton.

This is Hoagland’s second recruiting class at UD.

“I am very happy and excited about this class,” Hoagland said. “I felt we got three quality players that are excited to come to Dayton and help this program improve.”

Rohde is a Cincinnati native who played at St. Xavier and eventually improved his junior and senior seasons to become the team’s top player. Hoagland said Rohde is one of the three top players from the Cincinnati area.

Goss hails from Terre Haute, Ind., and played at Terre Haute High School. Known as a long hitter, Goss has been to the state finals three times, going with the Terre Haute South High School team twice and as an individual qualifier this season.

A First Team, All-State selection, Purpus comes to UD from Minster, Ohio. He was the Player of the Year in the Midwest Athletic Conference as he led Minster High School to a conference title as the team’s top player his senior season.
