CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - The final round of the 2012 Atlantic 10 Men’s Golf Championship was washed out by heavy rains and lightening Sunday morning.
After finishing tied for third among individuals, Dayton's
Matt Buse was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Team. The awards were selected based on championship finish and a vote by the A-10’s 11 head coaches.
This is Buse's first career all-conference selection.
"Matt played great," UD Head Coach
Gip Hoagland said. "He putted very well. He did not make a lot of mistakes and he read the course as well as you could."
Buse became just the seventh Flyer golfer in the program's history to place in the Top 10 at the A-10 Championship. He shot an even-par 72 in round one and a four-under par 68 in the second.
Based on Conference policy, George Washington, which finished in first place at eight-under par after round two, is awarded the Championship. The Colonials also claim the Atlantic 10’s automatic bid to the NCAA Men’s Golf Regionals.
Dayton as a team placed in sixth with team scores of 293 and 289.
