AURORA, Ohio - With his even-par 72, freshman Caleb Wolters led the University of Dayton men's golf team Tuesday on the second day of the Cleveland State Invitational at the Barrington Country Club. The Flyers finished the 54-hole event in 10th place overall and senior Andrew Steffensmeier turned in the squad's low total, placing 21st.

Steffensmeier turned in his third-round score of 75 to finish with a two-over-par 218 (73-70) in a tie for 21st place. This is the second time this fall season that the Columbus, Ohio, native has carded the low-tournament-score for the Flyers.

Wolters bounced back with an even-par 72 Tuesday after rounds of 76 and 77 on Monday. His 54-hole total of 225 (+9) was good for a tied for 33rd place. Junior George Rohde, III, finished in a tie for 43rd place overall after a 74-73-81=228 (+12) outing.

Freshman Nick Paxson ended up in a tie for 54th place after faltering a little in his final round. His total of 72-75-85=232 was 16-over-par for the event. Junior Craig Purpus rounded out the team scoring for the Flyers, carding an invitational personal low-round of 77 on Tuesday. His 54-hole total was 84-84-77=245 (+29) as he finished in 75th place.

Playing as an individual, sophomore Thomas Goss came in at 71st place after his three-round total of 241 (+25). Goss fired rounds of 77, 81, and 83 for the invitational.

The Flyers return to action Monday, Oct. 7 when they head to northern Kentucky foe the UC Bearcat Invitational. The event will be held at Traditions Golf Club in Hebron, Ky. Oct. 7-8.
