DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton men's soccer team enters into the Atlantic 10 half of the schedule this weekend. The Flyers host George Washington at 7 p.m. Friday before welcoming Fordham on Sunday at 1 p.m.

THE LAST TIME OUT
The Flyers picked up their ninth win of the season in a 2-0 victory over Valparaiso Monday night at Baujan Field. Senior Abe Keller recorded a pair of goals, one via penalty kick and one via free kick.

ABOUT THE COLONIALS
George Washington is led by second-year head coach Craig Jones, who has helped the Colonials to a trio of wins this season. The Colonials has wins over Howard, LIU-Brooklyn, and VMI.

Tyler Ranalli has been the main offensive threat with six goals and three assists on the year. His goals and point totals are second in the Atlantic 10 behind UD's Keller. JP van der Merwe has started all nine games in goal with a 1.42 goals-against average.

ABOUT THE RAMS
Fordham is also 3-6 on the year, under the direction of 11th-year head coach Jim McElderry. The Rams are coming off a 1-0 win over Manhattan that ended a five-game losing streak.

Jon Agostino is the only Ram with multiple goals this season on a Fordham team that averages 0.89 goals per contest. Goal keeper Alex Naples is one of the more experienced players for the Rams after spending four years at St. Johns.

NATIONAL RECOGNITION
Dayton is currently ranked No. 19 according to the NSCAA poll released Tuesday. The Flyers moved down one spot from last week. UD also boasts the No. 1 scoring offense in the nation with a 2.80 goals per game average.

COLLEGE SPORTS MADNESS TABS KELLER
College Sports Madness named Dayton senior Abe Keller as the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on Oct. 7. The Switzerland native scored two goals and chipped in one assist over the two game stretch.

AMANKONA - ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Dayton junior Amass Amankona picked up his first award of the season after being named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on Sept. 30. The Ghana native scored two goals in UD's win over Loyola Chicago.

RACKING UP THE AWARDS
Dayton had four players recognized onSept. 23 for their accomplishments on the field. Sophomore Ryan Peterson was named Player of the Week by the Atlantic 10 while redshirt freshman Rafael Gamboa was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week. Senior Abe Keller was named to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week as well. College Sports Madness named sophomore Maik Schoonderwoerd Player of the Week in the conference to complete the busy weekend for Dayton.

OFF TO A FAST START
Dayton has jumped out to a 10-0 record at the start of the 2013 season and has outscored opponents 28-7 on the year. That marks the best start in school history.

HAUPT'S CONTRIBUTION
Flyer freshman James Haupt earned Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors on Sept. 16 after scoring the game-winning goal for Dayton against Detroit. That goal also clinched a share of the MSU Tournament title.

SECOND STRAIGHT TITLE
Dayton competed in its second tournament on Sept. 13 and 15, and picked up its second straight tournament championship by winning a share of the Missouri State Tournament title with wins over Western Ilinois (2-0) and Detroit (1-0).

MSU ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
The Flyers had four players named to the all-tournament team in Missouri after winning the tournament championship. Sophomore Chris Froschauer and junior Amass Amankona were recognized for their efforts while seniors Jonathan Nelson and Abe Keller were named to the team as well.

LENNING FOR MVP
Sophomore defender Christopher Lenning was named Dayton Flyer Classic MVP.

FLYER CLASSIC ALL-TOURNAMENT
Dayton had four players named to the All-Tournament team after the Dayton Flyer Classic. Senior Abe Keller scored three goals in two games to earn honors while sophomore Maik Schoonderwoerd, junior Amass Amankona, and sophomore Christopher Lenning received accolades as well.

RED JERSEY
Senior midfielder Eddie Jones earned the teams' Red Jersey. An award presented to the best performer in the preseason for UD. Players accumulate points in games, practices and team challenges.

SHAPING THE PROGRAM
UD men's soccer had 16 newcomers at this point in the season last year. The 2013 is different as the Flyers benefit from the experience of nine seniors and three graduate students.

WINNINGEST COACH
Head Coach Dennis Currier became UD's winningest soccer coach in 2011 recording win number 66, surpassing former head coach Roy Craig who had 65 wins from 1988-1995. In addition, Currier's wins came in 130 games, which was 31 games less than Craig. Currier holds a .711 lifetime winning percentage with a combined record of 277-102-33.

PRESEASON PREP
Dayton faced a pair of quality opponents in the preseason after tying the University of Kentucky 0-0 in the opener and defeating Eastern Illinois 2-1. To wrap up the preseason, the Flyers held their annual Red and White intersquad scrimmage the following Sunday  in which the Red team came out on top 5-2. Sophomore Maik Schoonderwoerd scored a pair of goals in the scrimmage for the Reds.

PRESEASON ACCOLADES
The Flyers had a trio of players recognized by preseason All-Atlantic 10 team lists. Senior Abe Keller was named First Team All-A-10 in the College Sports Madness poll with sophomore goalkeeper Chris Froschauer earning second team honors in that same release. Freshman forward James Haupt was named to the All-Rookie team by the A-10 and was tabbed the Freshman of the Year by CSM as well.

ACROSS THE GLOBE
This year's Flyer squad features 11 international players. Dayton has student-athletes from Canada, England, France, Germany, Ghana, Netherlands, Jamica, Costa Rica, Sweden and Switzerland.

CONFERENCE STATISTICAL RANKINGS
Dayton leads the Atlantic 10 in assists per game (2.20), points per game (7.80), scoring offense (2.80), team goals against average (0.68), total assists (22), total goals (28), and total points (78). Individually, Abe Keller leads the league in assists per game (0.60), goals per game (0.70), points per game (2.00), total goals (7), and total points (20). Chris Froschauer is also No. 1 in goals against average (0.685) and second in save percentage (0.844).

Dayton will head back out on the road for the first time since Sept. 20 when the Flyers travel to Sain Louis on Oct. 20 at 7 p.m.
