WASHINGTON - University of Dayton sophomore goalkeeper
Santino Inkpen has been named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday.
Saint Louis' Axel Torres was named Offensive Player of the Week and Loyola Chicago's Mateusz Drazek earned Rookie of the Week honors. The awards are for games played from October 12-18.
Inkpen was phenomenal between the posts for the Flyers in Saturday night's 2-1 win over Fordham. The redshirt sophomore played all 90 minutes in goal, anchoring the Dayton defense and tying a career-best eight saves to lead the Flyers to their first conference win of the season.
Â
This is the second weekly honor of the season for Inkpen who was named the A10 Defensive Player of the Week back on September 8 following an unbeaten week where he set his career-high in saves with eighth against UNC Greensboro – a team receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll.
