PORT CLINTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's golf team finished its first day of play at the 2013 Toledo Rocket Classic Monday at Catawba Island Club. The Flyers are currently in 13th place after two rounds of play on the par-72, 5,929-yard course. Sophomore Mika Suntay is the team's low scorer with rounds of 79 and 82 and is in a tie for 36th place at 17-over-par.

Senior Grace Nikolai sits in a tie for 43rd place after carding rounds of 84 and 78 on day one while classmate Maggie Prokop fired rounds of 82 and 83 and is tied for 51st. Junior Lucy Frey turned in scores of 90 and 83 for a 29-over-par two-round total of 173 (t-71st) and, rounding out team scoring, is senior Erin Peavy with a 93-84=177 (+33 t-75th).

Freshman Jenna DiPaolo is competing as an individual at the event for the Flyers and turned in rounds of 88 and 82 to sit in a tie for 63rd place overall.

Dayton will return to action tomorrow morning to complete the final 18 holes of the Rocket Classic. The team will tee off Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
