Dayton, Ohio-- The University of Dayton Flyers defeat the University of Findlay Oilers 96-87. The Flyers were led by Ohio State transfer Jordan Sibert with 23 points, three steals and two assists. Vee Sanford also contributed 22 points and four assists for the Flyers. Sanford and Sibert were two of four Flyers that scored in double figures. Devin Oliver tallied 17 points with five rebounds and Dyshawn Pierre added 11 points with a block. Alex Gavrilovic added nine points on three-for-four FG shooting and three-for-three FT shooting off the bench.

The Flyers struggled early to find a rhythm as Findlay shot 60% from three-point land. The Oilers were led by senior forward Greg Kahlig who led the team with 30 points and shot 3-3 from beyond the arc in the first half. The Oilers held their first lead of the game midway through the first half at 26-25, but with help by a 12-1 run by the Flyers put them up 53-51 going into halftime. The Flyers were led by Jordan Sibert with 15 points and two steals while Vee Sanford also contributed 13 points.

The second half was a different story as both teams struggled with shooting. Despite shooting 60% from three-point land in the first half, the Oilers only shot 25% from beyond the arc in the second half. A layup from Vee Sanford at the 13:35 mark was the final lead change of the game. From that point on, it was all Flyers as they managed to establish their largest lead of the game of 84-71 with 4:23 left to play. The Oilers attempted to make a late game comeback, knocking down two three-pointers along with a layup to cut the lead to six. However, the Flyers closed out the game and walked away with a 96-87 victory.

The Flyers return to action next Saturday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. as they take on IPFW in their regular season opener at UD Arena.
