Flyers Battled High Temperatures and Impending Inclement Weather

LEDBETTER, Ky. - With high temperatures and pop-up storms in the area, the University of Dayton women's golf team completed play at the Drake Creek Invitational hosted by Murray State Tuesday afternoon. The Flyers finished in eighth place overall (320-314-333=967 +103) while junior Lucy Frey posted the team's low 56-hole total (77-78-82) of 237 (+21) to place 24th.

Sophomore Mika Suntay also carded an 82 on Tuesday for UD, the team's low score of the day, to place 45th (91-78-82=251 +35). Senior Grace Nikolai turned in an 86 third-round score to take 31st place (78-78-86=242 +26) while senior Erin Peavy tied for 38th with her 31-over-par three-round score of 247 (84-80-83).

Rounding out the team score, junior Kelly Muskat placed in a tied for 42nd place at 32-over-par for the tournament (81-80-87=248) and junior Mary-Katherine Slattery played as an individual, carding an 87-94-93=274 to come in at 58-over-par and in 60th place.

The Flyers return to action Sept. 16-17 for the Chicago State Cougar Classic. The team will be playing on the Starboard course at Harborside International, which has a Par of 72 and a yardage of 5,914.
