DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton volleyball team is set to head west for the Nebraska Ameritas Player's Challenge for a three-match outing Sept. 12-14. The Flyers will kick off the weekend Thursday with a 5:30 p.m. (ET) match against No. 17 Iowa State at No. 12 Nebraska's Devaney Center. UD will also square off against the host Huskers Friday and the Gaels of Saint Mary's (Calif.) on Saturday.

Nebraska's website. Dayton will be offering a live audio broadcast of all three matches as well via
daytonflyers.com. Friday's match-up between Dayton and Nebraska will be video streamed through BTN.com.

Janna Krafka earned all-tournament team honors after posting three-straight matches with double-digit digs.
Senior
Megan Campbell is the team's offensive leader, averaging 2.86 kills/set while hitting at a .350 clip. She also serves up a team-best 0.29 aces/set and records 0.95 blocks per frame as well. Sophomore
Jenna Jendryk is the squad's floor general, setting 9.14 assists per game and Krafka gets under 4.48 digs/set.
SCOUTING THE FIELD
The Nebraska Ameritas Player's Challenge field includes No. 17 Iowa State (4-2), Saint Mary's of California (3-1) and host No. 12 Nebraska (4-1). In the Flyers' weekend opener, Dayton will square off against Iowa State Thursday at 5:30 p.m. The Cyclones are coming off a 1-2 week as well, falling to top-ranked San Diego and Illinois over the weekend. UD will face host Nebraska Friday at 8 p.m. - the Huskers have won three straight, including a straight-set win over Georgia on Sept. 7. To wrap up the weekend, Dayton will play Saint Mary's (Calif.) on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. The Gaels picked up back-to-back sweeps of Miami and Air Force at home last weekend.

KRAFKA EARNS ALL-TOURNAMENT ACCOLADES
Sophomore
Janna Krafka was named to the Ohio Baymont Inn Invitational All-Tournament Team following her play at the three-match tournament Sept. 6-7, earning mention on an all-tournament team for the second week in a row. She led the team with 5.56 digs/set over UD's three contests, including a match-high 18 digs against Cincinnati and a team-high 19 digs against Ohio. Krafka has posted double-digit kills in all six matches the Flyers have played so far this season.
FLYERS IN THE AVCA RANKINGS
For the fifth-consecutive season the Flyers earned a national ranking, coming in at No. 22 in the 2013 Preseason American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 Poll. UD received votes in Sept. 3 national poll, marking the 63rd consecutive week the Flyers appeared in or received votes for the Top 25 poll. UD's streak of receiving votes dated back to Nov. 23, 2009. Dayton reached as high as No. 10 in 2012, which was the highest ranking in the program's history. The previous high ranking came when UD was ranked No. 12 during the week of Oct. 15, 2007 and Nov. 22, 2010.
FIRST ROUND OF A-10 WEEKLY HONORS INCLUDES CAMPBELL
The Atlantic 10 Conference office announced this season's first round of weekly award winners Sept. 3 and Dayton's senior
Megan Campbell was among the honorees. The Versailles, Ohio, native was named the A-10 Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Flyers to a 2-1 record and the tournament title. Campbell averaged 3.25 kills/set and 4.12 points/set while hitting at a strong .420 clip. She recorded 15 kills and seven blocks in UD's win over Tulsa in the Flyers' season opener. She followed that with two 12-kill performances, including a .522 hitting percentage in a win over Northeastern in which she did not commit an attack error. Campbell also recorded four services aces and 12 total blocks for the weekend. This is the sixth weekly honor for Campbell's career. She has previously been named Offensive Player of the Week twice and has earned three Defensive Player of the Week nods throughout her career.
DAYTON INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONS
In the team's season-opening weekend, the Flyers hosted the 2013 Dayton Invitational and posted a 2-1 record for the event. Megan Campbell has been named to the list of 30 finalists for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
UD PICKED TO WIN THE A-10 CROWN
The defending Atlantic 10 conference volleyball champion Flyers have been unanimously selected as the 2013 Atlantic 10 preseason favorite in a vote conducted among the league's nine head coaches. The Flyers (27-5, 14-0 Atlantic 10) won both the 2012 regular season and the A-10 Championship, their fourth-straight title and fifth in the last six years. The Flyers garnered all nine first-place votes for a point total of 81 in the poll. This was the fourth consecutive year Dayton was picked to finish first in the conference's preseason poll.
FAMILIAR FACE TO LEAD NEW COACHING STAFF
First-year head coach Matt Affolder is no stranger to the program after spending the last five seasons at the top assistant coach for the Flyer program. Affolder's staff includes assistant coach Stephanie Ross, assistant coach Ryan Freeburg, volunteer assistant coach Matt Girouard, director of operations

PROGRAM ON THE RISE
Dayton currently ranks No. 10 in all-time career wins with 983, passing Illinois State and Texas-Arlington during the 2012 season. The Flyers are just 17 wins shy of the 1,000 win mark, which only nine other schools have accomplished in their history. Dayton's program started in 1970.
