BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The University of Dayton men's golf team got in its final round of play at the 2014 Western Kentucky Kenny Perry Invitational Tuesday afternoon with the threat of bad weather looming. The Flyers finished in 11th place (314-302-319=935, +71) and senior George Rohde, III was the squad's top finisher in a tie for 28th place overall with his three-round scores of 74-72-81=227 (+11).

Lipscomb was the tournament winner at 15 strokes over par (293-291-295=879) and the Bisons' Dawson Armstrong claimed medalist honors with his 54-hole total of four-under-par 212 (68-69-75). Stroke counts were much higher for many players on the second day of play with wet course conditions following a night of rain in the area.

Junior Thomas Goss tied for 41st place with rounds of 78-74-80=232 to finish at 16 strokes over par. Sophomore Kevin Wargo tied for 54th place after turning in rounds of 79-80-80 (239, +23) and freshman Brendan Keating was the fourth scorer for Dayton with his three-round total of 84-76-82=242 (+26).

Freshman Phillip Johnson finished his first collegiate tournament in 63rd place after firing rounds of 83, 82 and 78 (243, +27).

The Flyers return to action Oct. 20-21 as they are set to host their home tournament, the Dayton Flyers Invitational. The two-day, 36-hole event will be played in Kettering at NCR Country Club.
