MAINEVILLE, Ohio - After second-round play was suspended at the Cincinnati Bearcat Classic Tuesday, University of Dayton women's golf finished the tournament in 13th place as only the first round's scores officially count. The field got through about 15-16 holes at TPC River's Bend on the second day of play with heavy rains before a nice downpour caused the course to be rendered unplayable. Dayton posted a round of 323 (+35) for Friday's round of 18 and freshman Quinn Atkinson recorded the team's low round of 77 (+5) to finish tied for 16th place overall.

With its 19-over-par team score of 307, the host Bearcats take top honors for the tournament and Wofford's Lauren Dunbar claimed medalist accolades as the only player with a sub-par round (71, -1).

Sophomore Jenna DiPaolo and senior Lucy Frey tied for 47th place with rounds of 81 (+9) while junior Mika Suntay tied for 69th place with her score of 84 (+12). Senior Mary-Katherine Slattery tied for 89th place overall with a round of 90 (+18) and senior Kelly Muskat finished in 94th pace after carding a round of 93 (+21).

Freshman Emily Connors competed as an individual, placing 96th with a score of 97 (+25).

Before play was suspended on Tuesday, Atkinson was at five-over-par through 13 holes to lead the Flyers. Frey was at six-over through 13 holes as well and carded a birdie on the fourth hole. Suntay also recorded a birdie on four today and was sitting at +7 through 12 holes.

The Flyers are off next weekend but will return to action Oct. 20-21 at their home tournament, the Dayton Fall Invitational. The two-day event will be held at NCR Country Club in Kettering.
