PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The University of Dayton women's cross country team finished ninth at the 2014 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championships Saturday in Pittsburgh, Pa.
The Flyers earned 242 points which put them ahead of George Washington, Fordham, St. Bonaventure, Saint Joseph's, and VCU. Dayton averaged a time of 19:07.50 on the day.
Individually, freshman
Emily Leonard had a strong performance, finishing in 27
th place and posting a time of 18:39.3. Junior
Mickey Ludlow followed that up with a time of 18:49.9 and took 34
th. Freshman
Brittany Fisher and senior
Katie Ollier broke into the Top 62 out of the 126 competitors while freshman
Grace McDonald, sophomore
Kathleen Keene, and freshman
Kate Crawford rounded out the Top 7 finishers for the Flyers.
Duquesne defended their title from last year and took home the 2014 championship. La Salle's Morgan Szekely recorded the top overall time and led her team to second place.
The Flyers will now prepare for the NCAA Great Lakes Regional in Madison, Wisc. on Nov. 14.
