#UDMXC CONCLUDES SEASON AT GREAT LAKES NCAA REGIONAL

The Flyers Finished 22nd of 30 Teams

MADISON, Wisc. – The University of Dayton men's cross country team finished 22nd of 30 teams at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional 10K Friday at the University of Wisconsin's Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.

"The Great Lakes Regional ended a season in which Flyer men's cross country grew to a high, competitive level," said UD Head Coach Rich Davis. "We had six men run times that are among the Top 25 of our 10k times in our program's history. Five of those six will be returning next year. Mike Russell, our senior leader, will graduate this spring."

Senior Michael Russell was UD's top finisher in 32:12. Sophomore Kyle Lach was just six seconds behind at 32:18. Sophomore Hunter Johnston was the third Flyer in a time of 32:27. Sophomore Alex Kuvin ran a 10K time of 32:35 and sophomore Michael Tymoski followed with a time of 32:41. Freshman Tyler Adgalanis (32:52) and junior Maxwell Roeske (33:19) rounded out Dayton's seven-man team.

Indiana State junior John Mascari won the race in 30:07, while Wisconsin won the team championship.

"Not being able to finish in the top 20 teams of the Great Lakes Region reflects that this is one of the toughest regions in the country," said Davis.

The UD men's cross country season concludes with this race, but the Flyers will continue training in preparation for its spring track program, which consists of four outdoor meets and one indoor meet.
