DAVIDSON, N.C. - With its straight-set sweep of Davidson (25-17, 25-20, 25-18), the University of Dayton volleyball team won its seventh-consecutive match and its 10th overall in Atlantic 10 Conference play. Junior Alaina Turner led all attackers with 14 kills while also serving up four aces and recording three blocks for the Flyers.

Also for the Flyers, freshman Jane Emmenecker recorded the match's only double-double with 34 assists and 11 digs while junior Jill Loiars added nine kills. Senior Isolde Hannan chipped in eight kills and junior Janna Krafka passed a match- high 12 digs. Freshman Amber Erhahon was the team's leading blocker with one solo and three assisted.

It was a 5-2 lead for Dayton (23-5, 10-1 A-10) to open the first set but Davidson (3-18, 1-10 A-10) rallied to turn the tables and take the 9-7 advantage on an assisted block. The Flyers put together a 3-0 spurt to retake the lead, 10-9, and another 3-0 run pushed the advantage to five, 16-11. After leading by as many as eight down the stretch, Dayton reached set point at 24-17 and picked up the first-frame win on a kill from Hannan.

In the second set, the Flyers went up 4-1 early on the Wildcats but Davidson scored four straight points to pull ahead, 5-4. A kill from Hannan put UD up three, 12-9, but DAV tied the frame at 12-all after a Flyer attack error. The Flyers were again up three, 19-16, when they used a quick 4-0 run to go up, 23-16, but the 'Cats continued to battle. A Davidson assisted block set the score at 23-20 but Dayton got a kill from Loiars and took advantage of a Wildcat attack error to win the set 25-0.

Back-to-back kills from Erhahon gave the Flyers the 4-1 lead in the third set and it expanded to a seven-point, 9-2, lead following consecutive service aces from Turner. An Emmenecker-Hannan block gave UD the seven-point lead again at 15-8 and Turner served up back-to-back aces again to give Dayton a 21-9 cushion. The Wildcats put together another late-set rally, scoring seven-straight points until a kill from Turner stopped the run at 24-17 for match point. In the end, freshman Jessica Sloan scored the match-winner as Dayton took set three 25-18, and the match, 3-0.

The Wildcats were led by Kelly Friers with six kills and Anastasia Owen with nine digs.

With only one match next week, the Flyers will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 8. Dayton will be in St. Louis to take on the Saint Louis Billikens at 2 p.m. (ET) at Chaifetz Pavilion.
