Darrell Davis paced the Flyers with career-highs of 19 points each as the University of Dayton men's basketball team defeated the Boston Terriers 78-62. Pollard shot 7-of-13 from the field while Davis was 6-of-7 from the field including a perfect 5-of-5 from beyond the arc.
Jordan Sibert and
Scoochie Smith were the other Flyer in double-figures with 11 and 10 points respectively as Dayton improves to 8-2 while Boston drops to 3-7 on the season.
In addition to Pollard and Davis' career-highs in points, Smith set a career high with eight assists to go along with zero turnovers, and
Bobby Wehrli set a career-high with four points in 21 minutes of action. Coming into the game, Werhli had played just 16 minutes all season.
With just three players coming off the bench, Dayton dominated bench points 31-9. UD also forced the Terriers into 18 turnovers. Boston came into the game turning the ball over on average just 11.3 times per game.
The Flyers converted 11-of-23 (47.8%) shots from beyond the arc and 26-of-50 (52.0%) from the field. The 11 made threes for UD is a season-high. Dayton held Boston to 7-of-19 (36.8%) from the three.

Darrell Davis three-pointer put the Flyers up 57-45 with 13:12 remaining in the game. Boston countered with a 17-7 run over the next six minutes and 16 seconds to cut the Flyer lead to just five (64-59) with 6:57 remaining. The Dayton defense clamped down and held the Terriers scoreless for the next six minutes of the game. UD forced Boston into four missed field goals and two turnovers during that stretch as Dayton went on a 14-3 run to close the game.
The Flyers are back in action on Tuesday Dec. 23 at UD Arena as they take on Brian Gregory's Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Tip-off from UD Arena is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET and the game can be seen on CBS Sports Network.
