WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The University of Dayton men's golf team is in a tie for third place after finishing the first round of William & Mary's Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate with a team score of 13-over-par 293. The tournament field of 27 is competing on Kingsmill Resort's par-70, 6,765-yard River Course during the three day event. Junior
George Rohde, III leads the Flyers and is tied for fifth place overall after posting an even round of 70 Sunday afternoon that included four birdies.
Freshman
Nick Paxson is currently tied for seventh place among the field of 140 golfers after carded a one-over-par 71 yesterday. He also recorded four birdies on the day. Senior
Andrew Steffensmeier is in a tie for 47th place after the first 18 as he turned in a 75 (+5).
Sophomore
Thomas Goss will start the second round in a tie for 75th place after his seven-over-par 77 first-round score while freshman
Caleb Wolters finished the first day tied for 96th overall with his 79 (+9).
The squad will tee off Monday afternoon at 1:45 p.m. on holes 15-18 for the second round of the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate.
