NEBRASKA OMAHA UPENDS SOFTBALL, 8-0, AT COLORADO STATE CLASSIC

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The University of Dayton softball team dropped an 8-0 decision to Nebraska Omaha Saturday afternoon in its first game of the Colorado State Classic held at CSU's Ram Field. The Flyers will next square off against the host Rams at approximately 4:30 p.m. MT (6:30 p.m. ET).

Dayton (4-11) was only able to muster one hit on the day, a single from senior Dana Trotta. The Flyers got six runners on, including senior Jordan Jennings who struck out in the top of the sixth but reached first on an error on the Mavericks' catcher.

Nebraska Omaha (13-8) tallied 11 hits on the afternoon, including two doubles and a home run.

Freshman Gabrielle Snyder (3-4) was charged with the loss in the circle for the Flyers after throwing two complete innings and facing three batters in the third. She struck out two and walked two while giving up six earned runs on seven hits. Sophomore Emily Froment closed out the game for Dayton, putting in 3.2 innings. She struck out two to three walks and gave up four hits.

Elsasser (10-3) collected the win for the Mavericks, working the entire game. She struck out seven UD batters to two walks.
