PINEHURST, N.C. - The University of Dayton men's golf team is in 10th place after the first 18 holes of the 2014 Pinehurst Intercollegiate. The three-day event is being held at Pinehurst Resort on the par-72, 7,092-yard course No. 8. In addition to Dayton, the field consists of Belmont, Eastern Kentucky, Loyola Maryland, Marshall, UNC Greensboro, Ohio, Old Dominion, Richmond and Wisconsin Lutheran.
The teams will play 18 holes Monday on course No. 2 (par 70, 7,490 yardage).
Junior
George Rohde, III fired the team's low round of the afternoon at 79 followed by senior
Andrew Steffensmeier at 81. Freshman Nix Paxson (83) and
Caleb Wolters (84) were next while sophomore
Thomas Goss rounded out team scoring at 89.
Junior
Will Chambers is competing as an individual, carding an 84 first-round score.
