LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Dayton men's golf team is in a tie for ninth place overall after the first two rounds of the 2014 Kentucky Bluegrass Invitational. The Flyers posted a team score of 298-297=595 on the Big Blue Course at the University Club of Kentucky, which is being played at par 72 and 6.992 yards. Freshman Nick Paxson leads the team with his two round total of 72-74=146 (+2) and is tied for 22nd among the field of 78 competitors.

Freshman Caleb Wolters is close behind his classmate Paxson with a 36-hole total of 77-73=150 (+6) while sophomore Thomas Goss (74-76) and senior Andrew Steffensmeier (76-74) are also sitting at six-over-par and in a tie for 41st place.

Junior George Rohde, III rounds out the team scoring for UD as he turned in rounds of 76 and 78 (154, +10) for sole possession of 63rd place.

Junior Craig Purpus is playing as an individual for the Flyers, carding rounds of 76 and 75 for a seven-over total of 151 to sit in a tie for 47th place.

Play commences Sunday at 8 a.m. as Rohde is the first Flyer to tee off. The rest of the team will start play between 8:09-8:45.
