MEN'S GOLF FINISHES #A10CHAMPS IN FOURTH PLACE

Freshman Caleb Wolters Team's Top Finisher at T-16th

Final Results

LUTZ, Fla. - The University of Dayton men's golf team finished in fourth place at the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship Sunday afternoon. The three-day event was held at TPC Tampa Bay and the course was played at par-71 and 6,898 yards. The Flyers' 54-hole team total was 301-306-310=917 (+65). Freshman Caleb Wolters was the team's top finisher as he tied for 16th place overall with a three-day total of 75-78-77=230 (+17).

VCU claimed the Championship title at 26-over-par 878 (286-301-291) while Richmond was just one stroke behind the Rams at 879 (292-298-289). The Spiders' Danny Pizetoski was the only player to card a sub-par round in the final day of competition to take top honors as the tournament's medalist with a 54-hole total of 70-71-70=211 (-2).

Freshman Nick Paxson fired rounds of 78-73-81 for a total of 19-over-par 232 to tie for 21st place. Junior George Rohde, III also tied for 21st place with a 54-hole total of 232 with rounds of 72-77-83.

Senior Andrew Steffensmeier posted his lowest round of the tournament Sunday with a 75. He finished in 29th place after carding rounds of 81-78-75 for a total of 234 (+21). Sophomore Thomas Goss finished tied for 30th place with his tournament total of 76-83-77=236 (+23).

This wraps up the 2013-14 season for the Dayton men's golf team and the career of senior Andrew Steffensmeier. The UD athletic department and head coach Gip Hoagland would like to wish Andrew the best of luck in his future endeavors!
