JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of Dayton women's track and field team had its final two student athletes compete on Friday at the NCAA East Preliminary meet in Florida.
Senior
Nicole Cargill and junior
Ashley DeMange finished up the 2014 campaign for the Flyers.
Cargill recorded a time of 10:24.39 in the 3000m steeplechase, earning 22
nd overall in the region out of 48 competitors. She had a strong showing and finished 10
th in her heat.
DeMange finished tied for 42
nd in the pole vault as she was unable to hit the mark in her three attempts.
These two Flyers completed a weekend that was started on Thursday by junior
Aly Weeman in the hammer throw. She took 41
st in that event with a distance of 52.69m.
Head Coach
Jason Francis talked about the meet.
"We competed well all weekend," Francis stated. "Cargill ran a great race and it is a great way to end her career and our 2014 season."
With that, Dayton women's track and field wrapped-up its year after successful indoor and outdoor seasons.
