CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The University of Dayton men's cross country team took third place of 10 teams at the Friendship Invitational 8k hosted by Cedarville University Saturday morning. University of Cincinnati took first place.
"Our guys that ran today just took the baton from the guys that ran yesterday at Notre Dame. They kept the competiveness of the team going. We ran really well as a group," said UD Head Coach
Rich Davis.
Junior
Maxwell Roeske was Dayton's top finisher, crossing the finish line in a personal best 26:32 in 13th place. Â
Freshman
Tom Clark was UD's next man across in 26:40 for 16th place. Senior Matt Fakler finished 21st in 27:09, junior Drew Bolubasz was 32nd in 27:44 and freshman Zach Hughes was 41st in 28:15.
"We ran together well and showed that our program is strong," said Davis. "Our guys are improving. We had a great weekend!"
The Flyers will be back at Cedarville on Oct. 3 for the All-Ohio 8k Championship. The men's race starts at 2 p.m.
