JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of Dayton volleyball team picked up its second-straight sweep of the UNF/JU Radisson Invitational Saturday morning, downing host North Florida, 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-18). Three Flyers tallied nine kills including Alaina Turner who also passed a match-high 14 digs.

Also for the Flyers, freshman Amber Erhahon recorded seven kills while hitting at .462 to go with four blocks and junior Jill Loiars' nine kills came with a .450 hitting percentage. Freshman Jane Emmenecker set 30 assists and junior Janna Krafka passed 12 digs.

The Flyers out-hit the Ospreys, .289 to .037, for the squad's best hitting percentage of the season. UD recorded 39 kills to UNF's 29 and the Flyers tallied eight team blocks to the Ospreys' four.

North Florida (4-9) got off to a quick start in the first set, opening up a 7-2 lead over Dayton (9-4) on the strength of three kills from Courtney Miller. The Flyers roared back with a 7-0 run to turn the tables on the Ospreys, 9-7, and UNF signaled for timeout. UD would score three more before UNF could stop the run and the UD advantage was five, 15-10, after a solo block from Loiars. An Osprey attacking error pushed the Flyer lead to seven, 21-14, and Miller scored UNF's last point of the frame at 21-17. Dayton scored the last four points of the set to win 25-17 and take a 1-0 match lead.

The Flyers trailed the Ospreys, 6-4, in the second frame but put together four-straight points to go ahead, 8-6. Dayton was ahead five, 15-10, after consecutive North Florida miscues and then the lead was nine, 21-12, on yet another UNF attacking error. The Ospreys saved set point once but the Flyers eventually claimed the 25-15 win in set two for a 2-0 match advantage.

Dayton scored the first six points of the third game, forcing North Florida into a timeout. A kill from Loiars set the score at 11-4 in favor of the Flyers but the Ospreys rallied for six consecutive points, cutting the UD lead to one, 11-10. Back-to-back kills from Jendryk gave the Flyers a three-point cushion at 15-12 but the Ospreys evened the set at 18-18 with a solo block. Dayton answered with a 7-0 run to close out the set, 25-18, and take the match, 3-0.

The Ospreys were led by Miller with 12 kills and 11 digs.

The Flyers return to action this afternoon against Nicholls State at Jacksonville's Swisher Gym.
