SUNTAY'S EVEN ROUND LEADS WOMEN'S GOLF AT BSU CARDINAL CLASSIC

Team Finished in 10th Place, Suntay in Tie for 11th Overall

Final Results

YORKTOWN, Ind. - After shaving seven strokes off its team total from the previous round, the University of Dayton women's golf team finished the ball State Cardinal Classic in 10th place overall (321-314=635, +59). Junior Mika Suntay was the team's top finisher with three birdies during her final round as she posted an even-par 72 Tuesday (79-72=151, +7) which was good for a tie in 11th place overall.

Senior Kelly Muskat fired a round of 80 and her two-day total of 159 (+15) tied her for 40th place while sophomore Jenna DiPaolo carded rounds of 80 and 82 (162, +18) for the tournament to finish tied for 57th.

Senior Lucy Frey was the fourth score that counted toward the team total with her rounds of 83 and 80 (163, +19) as she finished tied for 65th while senior Mary-Katherine Slattery cut seven strokes off her Monday total of 90 with an 83 for the final round. Her 29-over-par total of 173 ranked 90th overall.

Freshman Quinn Atkinson competed as an individual for Dayton, turning in back-to-back rounds of 81 for her 18-over total of 162 (t-57th).

The Flyers return to action October 6-7 for the Cincinnati Bearcat Classic. The two-day event will be held at TPC River's Bend in Maineville, Ohio.
