Day One Results

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The University of Dayton men's golf team is in 12th place after 36 holes of the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational as the team posted rounds of 304 and 287 (591, +23). Freshman P.J. Malik leads the Flyers with his two-over-par 74-70=144 - he is tied for 21st place overall. Youngstown State leads the field with a team score of 284-281=565 (-3).

Junior Thomas Goss carded rounds of 74 and 72 for a 36-hole total of 146 (+4) to site tied for 33rd heading into tomorrow's final round. Senior George Rohde, III turned in scores of 76 and 75 for a nine-over-par 151 while sophomore Nick Paxson is also tied for 62nd place with his total of 80-71=151.

Senior Craig Purpus rounds out the team scoring for the Flyers with rounds of 80 and 74 (154, +12); he's tied for 81st place. Freshman Erron Vandemore is competing as an individual for Dayton and he carded rounds of 72 and 76 in his first collegiate outing. His six-over-par total is tied for 42nd place.

Dayton will play one more round tomorrow with an 8 a.m. tee time.
