AMHERST, Mass. – Jordan Sibert scored 19 points and Dyshawn Pierre added seven points, 12 rebounds and a career-high seven assists, but it was not enough in a 66-64 loss to the Massachusetts Minutemen.

Kendall Pollard added 12 points, four rebounds and four assists as Dayton dropped to 16-4 overall and 6-2 in the Atlantic 10.

The Flyers shot 45 percent from the floor, but hit 7-of-14 free throws. Meanwhile, UMass had 12 offensive rebounds and shot 73 percent at the charity stripe.

Dayton trailed 60-50 with 6:22 to go before going on a 6-0 run. UD cut the deficit to 62-59 with 22 seconds to go, but a UD turnover allowed the Minutemen get the ball back and push the lead back to five.

Kyle Davis and Scoochie Smith each scored nine points and Darrell Davis added eight for Dayton.

Dayton returns home to face the Fordham Rams on Sunday, Feb. 1 at 2 p.m. ET.
