RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Dayton women's cross country team finished ninth overall at the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championship meet on Saturday morning.
Sophomore
Emily Leonard and freshman
Taylor Vernot both finished in the top 10, earning All-Conference accolades thanks to their personal bests in the 5K event. As a team, Dayton finished in ninth ahead of Fordham, George Mason, and Rhode Island while six Flyers set career marks.
Leonard posted the fourth-best 5K time in school history with Vernot recording the fifth-best time.
"We needed a little bit more from everyone today," said head coach
Sarah Haveman. "There are good things the freshmen and sophomores that make up our top five can take from today. We will continue to focus on the process and let the results come."
Host Richmond took home the team title while Duquesne finished runner-up. La Salle's Morgan Szekely won the individual title.
