MADISON, Wisc. – The University of Dayton women's cross country team finished 20
th overall at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional meet on Friday in Wisconsin.
The Flyers were led by sophomore
Emily Leonard who placed 39
th individually while freshman
Abbie VanFossen set a personal best. As a team, Dayton finished ahead of the likes of IUPUI, Cincinnati, Wright State, Akron, and Detroit.
"The women ran very well today," said head coach
Sarah Haveman. "VanFossen really came through for us in the middle of the race. The improvement we showed is promising and we are ready for the next step as a program."
