WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of Dayton volleyball team earned an automatic bid to the upcoming NCAA Tournament with its 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-20) win over Saint Louis in the Atlantic 10 Championship finals Sunday afternoon at the Charles E. Smith Center. This is Dayton's league-record 10th tournament title, including its sixth in the last seven years. The Flyers' nation's second-longest winning streak improves to 23 matches and Dayton's overall record is now 25-5 on the season. Saint Louis ends 2015 at 22-10.

• Dayton out-hit Saint Louis, .297 to .160 for the match and the Flyers tallied 42 kills to the Billikens' 34.

SET-BY-SET
• Set One: It was 6-1 Dayton to open the first set after back-to-back Sloan service aces and the Flyer advantage was 8-2 after an ace from Turner. Saint Louis cut it to two, 8-6, but Dayton was up four, 17-13, following consecutive Billiken attack errors. The UD lead was pushed to seven, 22-15, after a kill from Sloan and Turner tallied the set-winning termination as the Flyers won 25-19.
• Set Two: Back-to-back Jendryk kills set the score at 3-1 in favor of Dayton but Saint Louis rattled off four straight to turn the tables, 5-3. Trailing the Billikens by three, 9-6, the Flyers evened the set at 9-all with a Loiars-Sloan block. The set was tied five more times before Dayton pulled ahead two, 18-16. The frame remained close and Saint Louis tied it again at 23-23. A Billiken attack error and a kill from Loiars ended the set with Dayton on top, 25-23.
• Set Three: The third set started a little slow and Sloan's kill at 4-4 was the third tie of the frame. Saint Louis used a 3-0 spurt to take the lead but UD answered by scoring four consecutive points to pull in front, 8-7. The two squads traded points but the Billikens were able to break free with a 16-13 advantage. It wouldn't last long as the Flyers claimed the next four points to retake a one-point, 17-16, lead. It would be all Flyers as Dayton cruised to a 25-20 win in the third set and a sweep of Saint Louis for the match.
