DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton men's soccer team dropped a 3-2 decision in overtime in Saturday night in the regular season finale.

The Flyers (10-5-3, 5-1-2 A-10) had their senior night spoiled by the Rams (5-9-4, 3-2-3 A-10)
 
KEY STATS
• Dayton scored 46 goals this season, tied for the most in program history.
• The Flyers also lead nation in scoring offense and total goals.
• Dayton has scored in eight straight games.
• VCU and Dayton had eight shots a piece in the first half. Both teams finished with 18 in the game and seven on target.
• Dayton had 16 fouls compared to VCU's 13 fouls.
• This was the fifth overtime game for the Flyers this season.
 
DAYTON GOALS
• 22^nd Minute: A pass from senior Michael Frasca found fellow senior Maik Schoonderwoerd (9^th goal of season) in the box. Schoonderwoerd took a touch to his left to beat the defender and his shot found the right lower corner of the net. (Dayton 1, VCU 0)
• 60^th Minute: A ball deflected off of a VCU defender and was secured by senior Amass Amankona (10^th goal of season) at the top of the box. He blasted a shot to the left of the keeper. (Dayton 2, VCU 0)
 
VCU GOALS
• 85^th Minute: VCU scored their first goal of the game on an own goal by Dayton. (Dayton 2, VCU 1)
• 87^th Minute: A shot by Dennis Castillo for VCU deflected off of a Dayton defender and the ball went over the Dayton goalie into the back of the net. (Dayton 2, VCU 2)
• 96^th Minute: Rafa Andrade Santos' initial shot attempt was saved by the goalkeeper, but Jorge Herranz was there to score the rebound (Dayton 2, VCU 3)
 
UP NEXT
• The Flyers will head to Fairfax, Va. next Thursday for the opening round of the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championship tournament. Dayton's opponent will be announced Sunday.
