WOMEN'S GOLF SET TO OPEN SPRING HOSTING SAGUARO SHOOTOUT

Flyers to Play One Round Against Northern Arizona and Grand Canyon Feb. 15

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. - The University of Dayton women's golf team is set to open its Spring 2015 schedule today by hosting the Dayton Saguaro Shootout. The one-round event will take place at the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Arizona, and UD will be squaring off against Northern Arizona and Grand Canyon for 18 holes. The Shootout will be played on the Heritage Course at 6,291 yards with a par of 72.

"The course is very to unique to Arizona in that it is not a traditional desert course," commented head coach Sally Kosters prior to the event. "It is tree-lined and very reminiscent of Florida, actually. This will be the first time Dayton has played in the western US and the team has been warming up on several desert courses."

Dayton will field 10 golfers for the event, with a five-person team comprising the scoring for the Flyers.
