DAYTON, Ohio - The University of women's basketball team is set to play how to the La Salle Explorers Sunday afternoon for Senior Day. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. at UD Arena and three senior team members, along with senior practice players and team managers, will be recognized after the game.
About the FlyersWith the team's 59-45 win at Fordham on Wednesday, Dayton (20-5, 11-2 A-10) has now won three straight and 11 of its last 12 games. The Flyers are in second place in the Atlantic 10 standings, behind first-placed George Washington - the only team that has beaten Dayton in league play this season. Senior
Andrea Hoover continues to be the Flyers' offensive leader, averaging 18.5 ppg. (2nd A-10) and 3.4 apg. (10th A-10). Defensively, senior
Ally Malott leads the team with 7.8 rpg. (6th A-10) while junior Jodie Cornélie-Sigmundová swats a league-best 2.6 bpg.
Scouting La SalleLa Salle (13-13, 4-9 A-10) squeezed out a 47-45 win over Rhode Island Thursday night at home to pull even for the season at 13-13. The Explorers are now in a three-way tie for 11th place in A-10 standings with three games left in the regular season. La Salle's Micahya Owens leads the team with 13.6 ppg. (12th A-10) while Jasmine Alston dishes out 3.4 apg. (t-11th A-10) and collects 2.4 spg. (1st A-10) for the Explorers.
Last Time OutAfter a rough start for both teams, Dayton was able to muster a 59-45 win at Fordham on Wednesday night. At the under-16 media timeout of the first half, neither team had scored and there had been a combined seven turnovers. Things picked up in the second half and the Flyers ended up with five in double-figures scoring. Senior
Andrea Hoover led the team in scoring with 12 points to go with five assists while senior
Ally Malott recorded the 10-point, 13-rebound double-double in the win for UD.
Series StuffOver 32 meetings between Dayton and La Salle, the Flyers hold a slim 17-15 advantage in the all-time series. The two programs first met in 1993 and the Explorers had considerable success in the early years of the series. However, Dayton has now won nine consecutive games, including last season's 84-69 victory in Philadelphia.
70'S the Magic NumberSince the 2009-10 season, Dayton is 104-10 (.912) when scoring 70 or more points, including 17-1 this season. During the 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons, the Flyers only lost one game per season when scoring at least 70 points, and dropped only two games in 2009-10 when reaching that mark.

Ally Malott became the 22nd member of the 1,000-point club at UD. She currently has 1,347 career points for 11th all-time in Dayton scoring history. Senior
Andrea Hoover reached the 1,000-point milestone in UD's 73-69 win over VCU on Feb. 5, 2014. She was the 21st Flyer to join the club and ninth to do so as a junior. Hoover currently has 1,701 career points and ranks fifth all-time at Dayton.

20-5 or BetterThere are only five Division I programs whose men's and women's basketball teams both have records of 20-5 or better. In addition to Dayton, this group includes: Gonzaga, Maryland, Notre Dame and Wichita State.
Speaking of 20 winsDayton reached the 20-wins mark for the eighth consecutive season with its 59-45 win at Fordham on Feb. 18. This is the 25th time in the program's 47 seasons that Dayton has reached the 20-win plateau.
1,000-500-300Only two players in the history of Dayton women's basketball have reached the 1,000-points, 500-rebounds and 300-assists mark. The first to do it was Beverly Crusoe (and in only three seasons! - 1977-80) with 1,627 points, 946 rebounds and 358 assists for her career. The second? Current senior

Currently, the Flyers are 416-558 from the line for 74.6 percent - first in the A-10 and 25th nationally - which is good for second all-time. Hoover again leads the team at 89.5 percent (119-133; 2nd A-10, 12th NCAA).
Three Points of ExcellenceDayton has hit at least one three-point shot in 439 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 2, 2001, the longest streak in the Atlantic 10 Conference and one of the top streaks in the nation. The Flyers made a program record 15 three-point field goals against Buffalo in the Connecticut World Vision Classic on Nov. 25, 2011. Dayton tied the record with 15 vs. Wright State on Nov. 28, 2012. This season, UD hit 11 three-point baskets in its game against Central Michigan at UD Arena on Dec. 13.

Andrea Hoover has been in the Flyers' starting lineup for 93 consecutive games and in 112 of the 117 games she has been a part of at Dayton. Fellow senior

Andrea Hoover now holds the Dayton career record for made three-pointers. With one made three-point basket in UD's 82-64 win over Saint Joseph's on Feb. 15, Hoover broke the record previously held by former Flyer Stephanie Miller (221; 1999-04).
You're Invited to a Block PartyThe team's blocks leader for the past two seasons is at it again ... junior
Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova is averaging 2.56 blocks per game this season which ranks first in the Atlantic 10 and 25th nationally. Cornélie-Sigmundová has 155 career blocks and she ranks third in program history - 65 blocks behind the all-time leader Michele Kruty (220; 1984-88).
Back in the Saddle AgainOver 25 games this season Dayton has had some players stuck on the bench due to injury. For UD's game at Davidson on Jan. 7, all 12 players were cleared for game action, including sophomore
Andrijana Cvitkovic, who saw her first playing time of the season against the Wildcats, and senior
Tiffany Johnson, who has missed several games this season with a foot injury. Sophomore
Celeste Edwards also played against Davidson, her first game since Dec. 7. Edwards has gone back on the injured reserve list but Dayton now enjoys greater depth in both front-court and back-court positions.
Flyers in League PlayDayton has won 51 of its last 57 regular season Atlantic 10 games (.895), a streak that dates back to a 97-46 win over Rhode Island on Jan. 7, 2012, including posting a perfect 14-0 mark in conference play during the 2012-13 season. Of its six A-10 losses over the last four seasons, Dayton has taken three L's at home and three on the road.
First Half Success = Second Half VictoryDayton is 18-2 this season when leading at halftime, including a perfect 11-0 in Atlantic 10 play. The Flyers are 2-3 when either trailing at the half or tied at halftime.

Ally Malott scored a career-high 30 points in UD's 87-72 win over Saint Louis on Jan. 31. It was the first time a Flyer had scored 30 points in a game since former Flyer Justine Raterman scored 32 at Duquesne on Feb. 25, 2012. Malott's hard work paid off with an Atlantic 10 Player of the Week nod on Feb. 2.

Ally Malott were selected as candidates for the Senior CLASS Award - Dayton was the only program with TWO players among the final 30 in the running for the award. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award honors the attributes of NCAA Division I senior student-athletes in four areas: community, classroom, character and competition.
Welcome to the TeamDayton signed three to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period: Lauren Cannatelli (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota West), Madeleine Dennis (Perth, Western Australia/Mount Lawley) and Ashleigh Parkinson (Newark, Ohio/Newark Catholic). The trio will be joining the team in the fall of 2015.
