PIERRE’S BIG DAY NOT ENOUGH, UD FALLS, 83-73, AT DUQUESNE

PITTSBURGH – Dyshawn Pierre registered his third straight double-double with 27 a career-high points and 12 rebounds, but it wasn't enough in a 83-73 loss to the Duquesne Dukes.

Four Flyers scored in double figures. Scoochie Smith scored 14, Jordan Sibert tallied 12 and Kendall Pollard finished with 10.

With the loss, Dayton drops to 20-6 overall and 10-4 in the Atlantic 10.

UD shot 39 percent from the field and relied heavily on the three-ball. Dayton was 11-of-33 from beyond the arc.

Meanwhile, Duquesne took advantage of Dayton playing its second game in a 42-hour span. The Dukes shot 53 percent from the floor and out-rebounded the Flyers 40-34.

Dayton returns home to face the George Mason Patriots on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. ET.
