Kendall Pollard scored a career-high 26 points to help lead the Dayton Flyers to a 75-71 victory over the St. Bonaventure Bonnies in the Atlantic 10 Quarterfinals.
Jordan Sibert scored 19 points, while
Scoochie Smith had 11 points and six assists without a turnover.
Dayton trailed 67-64 with 2:11 to go, but the Flyers went on a 5-0 run thanks to two Smith free throws and a Sibert three to regain the lead.
Sibert then added another steal and layup to push the UD advantage to 71-67. The Bonnies cut it to 72-71 with a couple of layups on the ensuing possessions.
In the final possession with Dayton ahead 73-71, Pollard had a steal and outlet pass to
Kyle Davis to clinch the game.
UD shot 52 percent from the floor, forced 16 turnovers and had 15 assists.
Pollard closed the game 11-of-16 from the floor with seven rebounds.
Kyle Davis scored seven points and
Dyshawn Pierre added seven rebounds.
Dayton improved to 24-7 overall and will face the winner of the George Washington-Rhode Island game in the semifinals on Saturday, March 14 at 4 p.m. ET.
