PINEHURST, N.C. - The University of Dayton men's golf team is in third place after the first 18 holes of the 2015 Pinehurst Intercollegiate as senior

Nick Paxson each carded rounds of 74 (t-3rd) to lead the Flyers. As a team, Dayton turned in a score of 311 on the first day of the annual three-day event being played at Pinehurst No. 8 at par 71 and 6,980 yards.
Belmont leads the field of 11 teams with a 13-over-par 297 team total. The Bruins' Ashton Van Horne fired a round of 69 to lead all competitors.
Also for Dayton, senior
George Rohde, III carded a round of nine-over-par 80 to sit in a tie for 24th place overall while freshman
Brendan Keating turned in a round of 83 (+12, t-40th). Rounding out the team scoring is freshman
P.J. Malik with his round of 17-over-par 88 (59th).
