Box Score 2 OXFORD, Ohio – The University of Dayton softball team (13-9) got back on track on the final day of the Miami (OH) Tournament with back to back wins against host Miami in game one and North Dakota in game two.

Game One: Dayton 5, Miami (OH) 2 (8 innings)Â
The Flyers prevailed in their fourth extra inning game of the season with a four run top of the eighth to defeat Miami (11-9) 5-2. Senior
Tiffany Ricks led the Flyers at the plate with a 2-for-4 day and two RBI.Â

Sophomore
Gabrielle Snyder earned her third victory of the season going eight strong while only giving up four hits. She was also 2-for-4 at the plate and added two of the extra inning RBI on a double down the right field line.

It was a pitchers duel until Ricks got the scoring started in the seventh inning with an RBI double. Miami would match that in the bottom half of the inning to send it to extras.

In the first extra frame, Dayton racked up four runs on a Miami error, Snyder's two RBI double, and a Ricks RBI single to wrap things up. Miami would get an unearned run in the bottom half, but Snyder would shut the door for the 5-2 victory.

Game Two: Dayton 9, North Dakota 0 (5 innings)Â
Dayton continued the hot hitting in the second game of the day, defeating North Dakota
(6-16) 9-0. Ricks had another big game, going 1-for-3 with her third home run on the season. She also scored two runs.Â

Freshman
Kailee Budicin went 3-for-3 at the plate while knocking in one. Freshman
Jaclyn Kweder and
Kayla Haberstich also added two RBI each.

Reigning Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week senior
Kayla English got the start, and went five shutout innings while striking out seven and only yielding three hits. It is her third shutout in the last five games, as she moves her record to 5-4 on the season.

Dayton will now attempt to play its first home games this season with Eastern Kentucky coming to town. First pitch of the double header is scheduled for 2 p.m. this upcoming Wednesday, March 18.
