DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton softball team opens their 2015 home schedule with a double header against the Eastern Kentucky Colonels on Wednesday. Game one is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the second game will follow at approximately 4:15 p.m.
Series StuffDayton has has an all-time record of 11-14 against Eastern Kentucky. They last played in 2012.

First Rookie of the Week HonorsFreshman
Jaclyn Kweder had a stellar collegiate start to the 2015 season. She was awarded the first Rookie of the Week award for 2015 (February 2-8). Kweder went 6-for-12 over four games in the Flyers' opening weekend of play. She had a double and two RBI. Kweder batted .500 for the week, collecting six hits with a .583 slugging percentage and .500 on base percentage.
Cash Earns Rookie of the Week HonorsManda Cash received the Rookie of the Week accolade for games played Feb. 16-22. Cash made four appearances where she pitched 11.2 innings, fanned 15, walked four, and allowed three earned runs. She pitched her first complete game as a Flyer, leading Dayton to a 3-1 victory over Georgia Southern. Cash struck out six, walked two, and allowed eight hits and one earned run against the Eagles.
English Named A-10 Co-Pitcher of the Week For her performance at the USF Under Armour Showcase March 6-8, senior
Kayla English was named A-10 Co-Pitcher of the week. She pitched two complete shutout games for the Flyers over that weekend against Wagner (W, 7-0) and Robert Morris (W, 1-0). She fanned 15 batters and only gave up four hits in two games.
Veterans Making Their Mark2014 was one for the record books, as many new single-season program records were set, including batting average (.289), home runs (53), RBI (253), runs (281), doubles (90), walks (164) and slugging percentage (.453).
Senior
Kayla English holds the all-time career record in strikeouts with 486, ranks third in wins with 41, and fourth in innings pitched with 501.4. She also pitched a no-hitter on March 27 against Wright State. She was named to the A-10 Second Team All-Conference honors.
Infielder
Tiffany Ricks ranked 98th in the country in home runs (12) in 2014. She was in the top-5 of the A-10 in seven different offensive categories; hits (1st), total bases (2nd), RBI and home runs (3rd), runs scored (4th), batting average and stolen bases (5th). Ricks was named to the A-10 First Team All-Conference, the Second Team NFCA All-Region, and was also named the Team Offensive MVP.
