WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The University of Dayton men's golf team carded an 18-hole team score of 303 (+23) on the first day of the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate hosted by William and Mary. The three-day, 54-hole event is being played at the Kingsmill Resort on the River Course at par 70 and 6,765 yards. Freshman
Brendan Keating led the Flyers with a three-over-par round of 73 (t-40th).
Loyola (Md.) and Radford are currently tied for first place with team scores of 283 (+3). Boston College's Nick Pandelena and High Point's Jack Sides each fired rounds of 67 (-3) to lead the field of 159 participants.
Senior
George Rohde, III, was one stroke behind Keating at 74 (+4) and is tied for 50th place while junior
Thomas Goss carded the Flyers' third-best round of 77 (+7) and is tied for 94th.
Sophomore
Nick Paxson turned in a round of 79 (+9, t-113th) and senior
Will Chambers shot a 12-over-par 82 and is tied for 145th place.
Second-round play will tee off at 12:50 p.m. tomorrow afternoon for the Flyers.
