WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The University of Dayton men's golf team was one off its season-low round with a 288 for the final 18 holes of the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate hosted by William and Mary at the Kingsmill Resort on Tuesday. The Flyers tied for 13th place out of 30 teams with their three-day total of 303-299-288=890. The 54-hole event was played on the River Course at par 70 and 6,765 yards. Senior
George Rohde, III was the team's top finisher in a tie for 36th place with his scores of 74-73-73=220 (+10).
Radford won the team title in a three-hole playoff over Loyola (Md.) with a score of 283-294-282=859. Loyola's Matt Oshrine won the individual title with rounds of 70-72-66 to finish at two-under-par (208), tying the tournament record.
Sophomore
Nick Paxson had a stellar third round, carding a three-under-par 67 and finished the tournament in a tie for 48th place (79-76-67=222, +12). Junior
Thomas Goss was one stroke behind Paxson at 77-71-75=223 (+13) and tied for 54th place while freshman
Brendan Keating fired rounds of 73-79-73=225 (+15) to tie for 69th.
Senior
Will Chambers rounded out the Flyers' scoring with his scores of 82-82-82=246 (+36).
Dayton will return to action April 5-6 when they participate in the Wright State Invitational.
