DAYTON TO BATTLE CONNECTICUT MONDAY IN REGIONAL FINAL

Watch the Flyers and Huskies Battle It Out on ESPN Monday at 7 p.m.

ALBANY, N.Y. - In the words of University of Dayton women's basketball head coach Jim Jabir, "We would not play the game if we didn't have a chance to win." Seventh-seeded Dayton will square off against top-seeded, two-time defending national champion Connecticut Monday in the the 2015 NCAA Albany Regional Final, the program's first appearance in the round of eight. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. March 30 at Times Union Center and will be televised nationally on ESPN.

About the Flyers
Dayton (28-6) ousted eighth-ranked Louisville, 82-66, in the second NCAA Tournament Albany Regional Semifinal on March 28 sending the Flyers to the program's first Regional Final appearance. UD has won 11 of its last 12 games after closing out the regular season with a six-game winning streak, picking up two wins in the Atlantic 10 Championship and three wins in the NCAA Tournament. The Flyers are led by senior Andrea Hoover with 17.5 ppg. and 3.2 apg. while senior Ally Malott is the team's leading rebounder with 7.9 rpg.

Scouting Connecticut
Two-time defending national champion No. 1/1 Connecticut (35-1) continues to barrel through its competition after eliminating Texas, 105- 54, Saturday afternoon in Albany's first Regional Semifinal game. UConn is led by Breanna Stewart with 17.5 ppg. and 7.3 rpg.

Last Time Out
Senior Andrea Hoover bounced back from her five-point, foul-out game against Kentucky with a game-high 26 points in Dayton's 82-66 win over Louisville Saturday afternoon at Times Union Center. She was one of four Flyers to post double-figures scoring along with junior Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova who posted a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double. Dayton shot 50.9 percent from the field to Louisville's 31.5 percent and out-rebounded UofL, 41-39.

It was the first time a Flyer had scored 30 points in a game since former Flyer Justine Raterman scored 32 at Duquesne on Feb. 25, 2012. Malott's hard work paid off with an Atlantic 10 Player of the Week nod on Feb. 2.

We've Got Two CLASSy Seniors
Seniors Andrea Hoover and Ally Malott were selected as candidates for the Senior CLASS Award - Dayton was the only program with TWO players among the final 30 in the running for the award. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award honors the attributes of NCAA Division I senior student-athletes in four areas: community, classroom, character and competition.

Welcome to the Team
Dayton signed three to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period: Lauren Cannatelli (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota West), Madeleine Dennis (Perth, Western Australia/Mount Lawley) and Ashleigh Parkinson (Newark, Ohio/Newark Catholic).
