DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton softball team begins an 11-game road trip this week starting with a matchup against crosstown foe Wright State on Wednesday, followed by a three-game weekend series against preseason conference favorite Fordham. Â Wednesday's game is set for 5:30 p.m., while the weekend series is scheduled for a single game Friday at noon, while Saturday will feature a doubleheader also with an 11 a.m. start time.
Recent ActionThe Flyers have a 22-10 record and are coming off a three-game series sweep of Rhode Island. Â Dayton dominated the series, winning all games in 5 innings and they outscored the rams 30-1.
Wright State enters the game with a 7-21 record overall. They have dropped four of their last five games, but are 4-1 at home this season.
Fordham just completed a doubleheader sweep of LaSalle and are currently 3-2 in conference play this season.

Kayla English threw the first perfect game in UD history on March 29 against Rhode Island. Â She retired all 15 batters in a row in the 10-0 5-inning victory. Â It was her second no-hitter in her career, she threw one against Wright State on March 27, 2014. Â For her performance, she was awarded A-10 Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season.
Top TossersThis season the UD pitching staff leads the Atlantic 10 in ERA with a 2.55 mark, which is good for 40th in the country. Â The staff is led by

Haberstich Named Rookie of the WeekFor her performance during games played March 25-29, freshman
Kayla Haberstich was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week. Â The shortstop racked up nine hits to boost her batting average to a .275, while knocking in six runs in the Rhode Island series. Â She also had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with nine putouts and eight assists.
