DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's basketball team is set to head to Richmond, Virginia, to take part in the 2015 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship this weekend. Second-seeded UD will play No. 7 Saint Joseph's Friday afternoon. Tip-off for the Flyers' Quarterfinal game will be approximately 4:30 p.m. at Richmond Coliseum. The game will be broadcast locally on FOX 45.
About the FlyersDayton finished the 2014-15 regular season with a 23-5 overall mark and a 14-2 record in Atlantic 10 Conference play. UD closed out the regular season with a six-game winning streak. After earning the second seed in the 2015 A-10 Championship, the Flyers earned a bye and will face the winner of #7 Saint Joseph's and #10 George Mason on Friday in quarterfinal action. Scouting Saint Joseph'sSaint Joseph's closed out the 2014-15 regular season with a four-game winning streak and earned the seven seed in this week's Atlantic 10 Championship. The Hawks posted a 12-16 record on the season and were an even 8-8 in league contests. Saint Joseph's finished tied with Rhode Island at 8-8, but lost out on the sixth seed due to conference tie breakers as the Rams beat the Hawks 63-61 in overtime. SJU is led by Ciara Andrews with 13.1 ppg. (13th A-10) and Sarah Fairbanks with 6.1 rpg. (16th A-10).
Last Time OutDespite leading by only one point, 41-40, at halftime, Dayton pulled away from Saint Louis on Sunday afternoon at SLU's Chaifetz Arena coming away with a 95-68 win to close out the 2014-15 regular season. Six Flyers scored in double figures, led by senior

70'S the Magic NumberSince the 2009-10 season, Dayton is 106-10 (.914) when scoring 70 or more points, including 19-1 this season. During the 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons, the Flyers only lost one game per season when scoring at least 70 points, and dropped only two games in 2009-10 when reaching that mark.

Six Flyers Earn End-of-Season RecognitionDayton junior
Amber Deane was named the Atlantic 10's Sixth Woman of the Year, one of six Flyers to earn end-of-season recognition from the league. Deane is the third Flyer to earn the award, the first since Olivia Applewhite in 2013. Seniors

Dayton in the A-10 ChampionshipThe Flyers are making their 20th appearance in the Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship in 2015, having made the post-season tournament every season Dayton has been a member of the league. UD has won one A-10 Championship title in three finals appearances and hold an 18-17 overall record for league tournament games.

23-6 or BetterHeading into this weekend's games, there are only five Division I programs whose men's and women's basketball teams both have records of 21-6 or better. In addition to Dayton (men: 23-6, women: 23-5), this group includes: Gonzaga, Maryland, Notre Dame and Wichita State.
Speaking of 20 winsDayton reached the 20-wins mark for the eighth-consecutive season with its 59-45 win at Fordham on Feb. 18. This is the 15th time in the program's 47 seasons that Dayton has reached the 20-win plateau.
1,000-500-300Only two players in the history of Dayton women's basketball have reached the 1,000-points, 500-rebounds and 300-assists mark. The first to do it was Beverly Crusoe (and in only three seasons! - 1977-80) with 1,627 points, 946 rebounds and 358 assists for her career. The second? Current senior

Three Points of ExcellenceDayton has hit at least one three-point shot in 442 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 2, 2001, the longest streak in the Atlantic 10 Conference and one of the top streaks in the nation. The Flyers made a program-record 15 three-point field goals against Buffalo in the Connecticut World Vision Classic on Nov. 25, 2011. Dayton tied the record with 15 vs. Wright State on Nov. 28, 2012. This season, UD hit 11 three-point baskets in its game against Central Michigan at UD Arena on Dec. 13.

You're Invited to a Block PartyThe team's blocks leader for the past two seasons is at it again ... junior Jodie Cornélie-Sigmundová is averaging 2.39 blocks per game this season which ranks first in the Atlantic 10 and 34th nationally. Cornélie-Sigmundová has 158 career blocks and she ranks third in program history - 62 blocks behind the all-time leader Michele Kruty (220; 1984-88).
Flyers in League PlayDayton has won 54 of its last 60 regular season Atlantic 10 games (.900), a streak that dates back to a 97-46 win over Rhode Island on Jan. 7, 2012, including posting a perfect 14-0 mark in conference play during the 2012-13 season. Of its six A-10 losses over the last four seasons, Dayton has taken three L's at home and three on the road.

Ally Malott scored a career-high 30 points in UD's 87-72 win over Saint Louis on Jan. 31. It was the first time a Flyer had scored 30 points in a game since former Flyer Justine Raterman scored 32 at Duquesne on Feb. 25, 2012. Malott's hard work paid off with an Atlantic 10 Player of the Week nod on Feb. 2.

Perfect Graduation Success Rate (GSR)Dayton women's basketball has posted a perfect Graduation Success Rate (GSR) for nine consecutive seasons, every year the rate has been published except for one. The Flyers are one of only eight programs to post a perfect score and reach the NCAA Tournament for the past five seasons: Dayton, DePaul, Duke, Iowa State, Notre Dame, St. John's, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. Additionally, Dayton was the only school to have both its men's and women's basketball programs post perfect GSR scores and make appearances in the 2014 NCAA Tournament.
