Jordan Sibert scored 17 points, but it wasn't enough as the Dayton Flyers fell 55-53 to the La Salle Explorers in the regular season finale.
Dayton will enter the 2015 Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Championship as the No. 2 seed. The Flyers will play on Friday, March 13 at 6:30 p.m. ET in Brooklyn.
Kendall Pollard added 11 points,
Scoochie Smith registered 10 points, while
Dyshawn Pierre tallied five points and nine rebounds.
Dayton got buried on the boards with La Salle out-rebounding UD 40-27. The Explorers also had 14 offensive rebounds and shot 46 percent from beyond the arc.
UD also had an uncharacteristic game offensively with only six assists and 14 turnovers.
Dayton used a 10-point second-half run, started by Sibert's 3-pointer, to lead 32-28 with 12 minutes to go. But La Salle responded with the next seven points and led by seven with 3:44 left.
The Flyers drew to within two with 55 seconds left on a pair of
Kyle Davis free throws, but Jerrell Wright dunked at the other end and Jordan Price made seven of eight free throws to seal it.
The Flyers close the regular season 23-7 overall and 13-5 in the Atlantic 10.
